This. Load of malarkey. Also “The Bridge across Forever” loved it young now see what silly self-indulgent nonsense

He misspelled "could be," there.

“Everything in this book could be wrong.”

Oh, he was with Leslie Parrish for 21 years, but after their divorce he was immediately hooked up with a fan 34 years younger than he was. I believe she became wife #3, and he later divorced her.

I had a soft dopamine hit when I found out he left his soulmate. Simply because it reminded me of that guy who tried to defend his affair because “soulmate.” And well.

My mother loves Jonathan Livingston Seagull and introduced me to his books when I was in late HS/early college and I loved them, including Illusions and One.

I wasn't aware of his personal life til this thread but thinking back I absolutely could see how he was justifying an affair or whatever in his own mind, and how other people would use those books to justify their affairs. Haven't read them now for years but I remember a lot of soulmate type stuff.

I lost interest in reading Richard Bach after learning how horrible he was to his first family.

I loved it, as well as his other books. I was really sad to learn he completely ditched his first family with six kids once Johnathon Livingston Seagull was published, and never wrote about them or even saw the kids for many years.

He writes in an autobiographical style, but there is a huge chunk missing. Still wonderful writing, though.

My favourite spiritual book besides the bhagavad gita is Illusions.

Has anyone else read the stories about Donald Shimoda?
