Subject: Math sequencing - help me out
Talk to his counselor. You can set up a meeting and they can share the different options. There is also a college/career specialist on campus who can help talk through ideas.
Depending on the school, there are probably options that aren't IB. I teach at an IB school and we still offer plenty of other classes (because a large portion of kids aren't interesting in IB math). You can do precalc, prop/stat, trig, AP stats, calculus...

Subject: Math sequencing - help me out
DS is a freshman at an IB school. Doing good in Math, not honors. He is in geometry. Next year he will take Algebra 2. It is clear he will not do good in IB Math; we sat through the presentation and yeah, it's not him (just Math, other subjects would be OK)
Has anyone done Dual Enrollment while at IB schools? Is it looked down by colleges? He is also not likely to stay in state.
