Why would you eat anything heavy before a game? Can the parents not feed their own spawn before or after the game? It is like having the be the snack mom after 45 minutes of soccer!

Try to say bring your own and the parents shudder in horror!

OP- I agree it’s extra. It’s a “championship” playoff game and the coach wants kids there early to practice, which happens to fall around lunch time. Another parent offered to bring pizza the other night, and now the coach/other parents are spitballing. I’m not a fan of this precedent being set, but, my family did eat the pizza the other day, so I want to reciprocate (I’m sharing the cost with a few other parents).

OP here- that was my concern as well. Lots of sandwich platters have mayo, lettuce, etc already on there and I know many kids wouldn’t want that. If I do sandwiches, I would probably get a few foot-long subs with just meat and cheese!

Sandwiches, chips and fruit. Little kids won’t eat the salad. Pretzels would be slightly less unhealthy than chips.

It’s not a hugely active sport so you do t need to worry as much as if it were soccer or swimming or something else really physical.

I volunteered to organize a baseball team lunch before my son’s baseball game this weekend. Something lighter than pizza would be ideal, since the team will be playing immediately after (and the team just had pizza!). There are 10 players (mostly 1st and 2nd grade) to feed, plus some siblings and parents. I’m struggling to think of ideas that are kid-pleasers, not too messy (eating at the field), and not too heavy! All I’m coming up with are sandwich platters/salad/chips/fruit.
