If you have any concern contact early intervention (PIE) program in Arlington. They can do a whole eval!

It’s impossible to say. Sometimes yes and sometimes no.

A receptive delay does not automatically indicate autism.

But it can be a marker, especially when combined with other traits. Talk to your pediatrician about an ADOS or M-CHAT evaluation if you're concerned about autism.

20 month old has receptive language delay diagnosis. Says 1-2 words but does not relate the words to the actual thing. Doesn’t follow directions. Starting speech therapy soon. Any idea if this is definitely autism?
