OP here. I want DS to wait. DS sees other peer athletes filling social media now with "committed" posts and wants to follow suit.
Every time my kid tells me about someone who posted they committed, I wonder what will happen if they don’t actually get in. It doesn’t happen often, but it does happen. I would tell him to wait. Let him tell close friends if he wants. But why put it out there for the world to see before it’s 100% certain.

Do not share yet. One it annoys people that recruits get such early notice, and two it is not certain. My DS has a friend who's twin brother was recruited. His early prospect fell through. I know his family (except for the sister) was keeping things quiet, I'd just as soon I didn't know the details.

Definitely do not put it on social media until it is a sure thing. You never know what can happen. If you need to share the news, share it with someone who won’t blab. Or here where we don’t know you - congrats to your ds!
