That’s BS. It’s not this is how Banneker does it. Their IB averages are terrible, barely passing even with the mandatory before and after school classes.

You don’t push more classes and school if kids are excelling.

The handbook, which is on the web site, has a lot of information about the curriculum.

Is there a curriculum guide posted anywhere online?

the IB before school course starts at 7:55, doors open at 7:45 for breakfast. sidebar breakfast at banneker is really good btw.

The 7:30 course was a SAT course taught by Kaplan for juniors. This was offered free to all students but has not happened since 2019. There is also a before school course for IB juniors that is required.

thank you! Makes it much more of a live option for my motivated but nocturnal 8th grader.

First period starts at 8:45. The 7:30 course is an elective taken only by some juniors, I think. It’s definitely not universal.

Is it universally 7:30 am? I see that’s called “early morning” and there’s a separate period 1 but I assume it’s still required
