This is not necessarily true. I bought a beautiful pair of Armani trousers in 2009. They were $350. I put them on a credit card and absolutely could not afford them. Guess what, I still wear them and they are still beautiful. Worth every penny.

I would give a different recommendation for someone in their 20s versus 50s.
