Georgia Tech wouldn't leave the ACC for the Ivy League. Even the Big Ten has considered Georgia Tech for the Atlanta area media market & to break into the South for football recruiting. So with the Big Ten eyeing expansion, Georgia Tech would have zero interest in moving down to Ivy League athletics. Georgia Tech would move to the Big Ten or to the SEC if invited, but unlikely to be interested in the Ivy League.

I wonder which schools would be interested in joining the Ivy League. Williams College & Amherst College have US News rankings sewn up and probably have no desire to be overshadowed by Ivy League schools. Plus, LACs are not research schools so Ivy League membership does not make sense from an academic viewpoint. Would have to be a lost, lonely National University in search of higher visibility and snappier marketing. (MIT, CMU, JHU, WashUStL, Emory, Rice, Tufts, Wake Forest if the ACC dissolves, College of William & Mary, & Patriot League schools.)

Since everybody says the the Ivy League is nothing more than a sports league, Alabama is the logical answer.

Other academic schools include WashUStL, Rice, Emory, Georgetown, Carnegie Mellon, Lehigh, Lafayette, & Tufts, in addition to the previously mentioned schools (USMA, USNA, JHU, MIT, U Chicago, Fordham, Colgate, Bucknell).

But, if the Ivy League wants to do it right, it should pursue Notre Dame just like the Big Ten and the SEC.

Maybe the little ivies (Williams, Wesleyan, and Amherst--I think) could go on steroids and move up to the big ivies. Maybe Davidson College or Wash & Lee.

What about the University of Hawaii ? Might help attract recruits.

Realistically, the only schools that would merit consideration are Stanford, UChicago, MIT, Duke, Northwestern, and Hopkins.

It's a sports league. Why would Stanford or Duke drop several levels?

Not Lehigh anymore?

There is no reason for the Ivy League to expand.

Stanford, Northwestern, and Duke would lose too much money to step down to Ivy League athletics. Northwestern, as part of the Big Ten, already has a great research network.

USMA at West Point, USNA at Annapolis, University of Chicago, MIT, and Johns Hopkins might be the best options if the Ivy League wanted to expand.

Stanford is not leaving the Pac12 and is a possible B1G candidate, so that is out. Northwestern isn't giving up a billion dollars in athletcs money for the Ivys.

I would agree with MIT, Hopkins and Georgetown.

According to DCUM, Penn (other than Wharton) and Cornell.

Best options would be the US Military Academy (West Point) and the US Naval Academy (Annapolis) although it might be a costly move as the Ivy League teams do not generate much revenue.

Certainly no university which is a member of a Power 5 Conference would even consider moving down to Ivy League athletics.

Either the service academies or some member of the Patriot League.

Any college willing to join would need a major and potentially costly overhaul of their sports programs to match Ivy standards. Would probably have to be in the Northeast area for travel purposes and be fairly selective and old for the existing Ivies to allow into their brand.
