There are something like 7 officers in the traffic division for the entire county. There is less enforcement because there are far fewer officers to do the work.

I don't know if it's an official policy, but they aren't doing much enforcement at all. I've also noticed that street parking enforcement has been largely absent since 2020, even in the major commercial corridors.

I live in Arlington and in the last few months it seems like drivers are running red lights all the time and really have no fear of any enforcement.

Did the county change policies again?

I know the county stopped charging property crime a long time ago but traffic too?
Or is it the shortage of police in general?
