300 and 270 are both 99% for the fall of 8th, and they use the percentile since the test wasn't designed to differentiate between fractions of a percent.

Were you actually there? What he said was that he didn’t remember the exact mean MAP score but that parents could email him to find it out. He did not say anything even remotely like the actual score doesn’t master anyway because we look at percentiles only.
It's been discussed here openly for years that percentiles are used since comparing the RAW scores is meaningless. If you'd asked them about this, I'm sure they would've told you as much.6
What is discussed on DCUM often doesn’t have any bearing on what fact is. Just because someone repeats it regularly here doesn’t mean it’s true.

Well that’s my kids exact score for the beginning of 8th. It was actually higher at the end of 7th by a few points. I guess that’s hopeful then.

Someone posted a few years ago that the mean was 270 which is the 99% for the beginning of 8th grade. It's also been said they use the percentile not the score since the test wasn't intended to differentiate between fractions of a percent.
