We could maybe make a trip to the store work, but I can say from experience that my best option is going to be to give her 6 or so options on her AAC device and let her choose one. So I'm just crowd sourcing to figure out what the most popular 6 or so options will be.

+1. OP it sounds like she is overwhelmed by the question. At 4, she may not yet have a firm grasp on the concept of Halloween, or costumes, or how you figure out what you want to be. Don't ask her. Show her some possibilities and see what she likes.
