I was a Not Marc Elrich voter. I voted Blair even though I preferred Riemer as my first choice. I don't like Elrich because he doesn't want to do anything about single family zoning and he opposes Thrive, and even if he himself isn't racist, he aligns with racists and conservatives who don't want to see changes in their neighborhoods.
But Reardon Sullivan is also anti-Thrive, doesn't care about the affordable housing crisis and is worse on housing than Elrich, and it would be embarrassing to have a Republican elected in MoCo.
I don't want to vote for Elrich because I don't want to endorse him or say anything favorable because he is so bad on housing. I am inclined to leave it blank, but if the Republican has any chance of coming close to winning, then I will hold my nose and vote for Elrich.
The way you are associating racism with those who oppose Thrive is exactly why Elrich won the primary. A huge number of people have concerns about Thrive that have nothing to do with race. The way Thrive supporters tossed around charges of racism grew Elrich’s base without growing support for Thrive.
As for the general election, you clearly seem to agree with Elrich more than Sullivan. It seems like you are too self-righteous to make the rational for you decision to vote for him.
