See, I think this is just annoying, and I’m not anti-sweets/candy like much of DCUM. Kids get plenty of candy and they don’t need single houses going overboard. When people give away full size candy bars or bags of candy, that’s less about the kids than about themselves. Don’t try to keep up with the Joneses. You’ll drive yourself crazy doing it, and be nudging expectations towards excess.
One small candy item, regardless of kind, is enough to support the community effort and to treat the kids in the community. Kids may have preferences in candy, but price point isn’t what they’re judging by.
