We have a play room. It has a play kitchen, easel with two chairs, books, puzzles, games, dress up stuff and then little animal and dinosaur toys. Oh, and we just added a desk. It sounds like a lot but it’s not really that much stuff and my kids are good about not just dumping out puzzles for the heck of it, so it stays manageable. Like another poster said, our kids like to play around us but we have steadily worked up to keeping these toys in the play room and they are now spending a lot of time in the room each day. Kids are 5 and 2.

we have a playroom. it's usually empty. the kids want to play where we are, which is usually the living room.

Our playroom is our small living room. We had a ottoman that had storage and some cabinets.

Finished basement. Large rugs and rug pads. Ikea kitchen, cabinet pretending its a fridge with all the play food. Trofast with bins for playdoh and accessories also holds wood train rail pieces. Serves as a little table if needed. Also a short clothing rack for costumes, table and chairs. Pickler triangle and mats, pillows and blankets for forts. Art cart, Wood doll house and books are on another floor so i can keep an eye out on messy projects. Everything gets played with all the time. My kids like to climb and make forts but also craft stuff. As they grow, i clear out outgrown toys etc but they still play with all of the above.

We only have one kid so we made a bedroom the playroom. When she was 3-4 It had a couch in it for reading books or for adults to
Dot if having a play date. Shelving with space for large toys and tubs for smaller toys. A low table with kid size chairs for playdoh or painting, if anything tk hr done on a table. And a chest with dress up stuff. Oh and a CD player for music/dancing. I put her art work on the walls. Now she is 10 it’s changed, couch and shelves are still there. The low table and kid chairs have been replaced by a small but regular height table with 2 kitchen chairs. She has a laptop on it and does her homework here.

Living room in both homes we've lived in since having kids. They play in their rooms as well.

Big plastic bins of toys, unless it's a game that comes with its own box.

Book are on the shelves in various rooms.

We have two chairs and a side table from our old place in there, and then we have a big table with six chairs there too. There's a mini fridge and sink. There's a huge fabric tent that has a bunch of throw pillows and stuffed animals in there. There's an art supply zone, a food (play food) zone, a book nook, and an animal and doll zone.

To be honest, I don't spend a ton of time there - the nanny keeps it organized.

Oh I would say the only kid furniture is a low art table. Everything else is full size but stuff I’m not precious about.

Plus lots of toy cars, and magnatiles and blocks. The toys are in large wall units from the container store. I would say all those things get used.

What is your play room like for a 3/4 year old? I'm wondering what your storage system is like, if you have any kids' furniture, and what toys actually get played with (and which ones just sit there). TIA
