IKEA. That’s where I got the rug for my DS’s room. The indoor outdoor rugs aren’t great texture wise for sitting on and playing on (they’re made from some sort of poly material).

These are pretty good rugs. A little thin and obviously printed instead of woven, but durable and washable.

PS I also think a Ballard outdoor rug is a great idea I just doubt it’s in budget. Annie Selke has a ton of outdoor rugs but same problem.


I just looked, I’m wrong, and I change my vote to whichever Ballard outdoor rug you like best.

When my kids were little we had the WRONG rug (ugh, still remember the banana mashed into it) and I replaced it with an indoor/outdoor rug. Much better decision.

This was before ruggable but I think I'd still go with the outdoor rug. You're not going to want to move your dining table constantly to wash the rug.

Target has some that are cheap and surprisingly nice. Try the project 62 brand at target.

I like this one. You can take it outside and hose it or take it to a car wash and use a pressure washer. It does have a latex backing, so that may deteriorate eventually. But for the price it is pretty nice. It’s comfortable to walk on and reasonably non-shiny.
