I’d say stay home and take care of your sick kid. What’s with you people?

My kids are teenagers, so they can be home alone. There’s nothing to do to take care of them if they’re asleep.

Doesn’t matter. If my kid isn’t going, I’m not driving. Period.

You don’t have to, that’s your prerogative, but a parent isn’t neglectful because they left home for a short period while their kid is sick. The original comment sounded judgmental.

No, don't drive when your kid is sick. Just trade days with others.

I would be upset as the other parent if you did the pool.

Take the week off.

You don’t need both parents to do that.

I think it depends. Does the child you’re driving depend on you to get to the final location because they don’t have anyone else to take them or is it simply to lessen the burden between families. If the latter I’d tell the other family and pick up and extra shift. If the former and its to somewhere like school, I’d take the child.

No, except if they really cannot work it out and they'd help me out in a bind.

If your kid is sick, would you still drive the pool? Skip that week and offer to do extra later?
