I've used weight loss coaches through Jenny Craig and Optavia where their only qualification was being successful on the program. Both worked for a time, but not long-term.

$0, and the person you describe sounds potentially insufferable.

I'm 50, have lost 40+ pounds and kept it off, and I am in no way equipped to "coach" others.

Have you been successful with implementing the suggestions?

A nutritionist or dietician is going to tell you what you already know. You’re an intelligent person. You know what you’re supposed to eat, how big your portion sizes should be, what a balanced meal looks like. You know how to read nutrition labels. Actually doing what you know you’re supposed to do it different. Ask yourself what’s preventing you from doing what you know your supposed to. And if you can’t answer that then find a therapist to help you. Now you have 2 copays a week. That’s how much I would pay.

What they themselves lost is meaningless. What their coachees lost is what matters.

If this person is only working off their personal success and has no related education/certification, then $0.

Hmm. Maybe $5, or even up to $10 a week?

I think this means I would not have the weight loss coach.

None of this makes them qualified to be a “weight loss coach,” so zero.

I would not hire someone just based on their own fat loss success. What kind of relevant education does this person have? For a qualified coach who only does nutrition without any suggestions on what to do exercise wise I would pay up to 200/month.
