Can you suggest another road that does that? I'm sorry the wealthy people who live in Somerset would rather have the road all to themselves, but my taxes paid for it and I want to use it TO DRIVE ON. Since that is indeed what roads are made for, in 2022.

If we're addressing pedestrian and bike safety, why not insist pedestrians and bicyclists behaving safely, too? I can't tell you how many times every single day I see pedestrians walking into the street staring straight down at their phones, or with their backs to oncoming traffic, like idiots. No amount of speed bumps can keep idiots like that safe.


You’re wrong. You think roads have been for driving your entire life. That’s just your perception because you drive everywhere. If you want to cross to Wisconsin, do it via Bradley or Friendship Heights.ike the rest of us. Or just cross at Dorset at a slower speed and desk with the speed bumps. And PKEASE don’t talk about unsafe pedestrians and cyclists without mentioning unsafe drivers.

You are welcome to drive on any road safely. The rest of us who pay taxes (seriously?) would like you to slow down or pick a route that doesn’t go through a residential area. If you would slow down, you could go through neighborhoods without speed bumps. But you can’t do that so you get speed bumps. See how that works?

You should really actually know something about an area before you post. What neighborhood does that stretch of Little Falls Parkway run through exactly?

I'm not a fan of Anderson or the planning board in general, but the speed bumps were necessary because people were driving too fast on that stretch of Little Falls, a curvy road with no sidewalks or bike lanes.

Still makes zero sense. The famous Capital Crescent Trail is directly parallel.

Roads are for moving safely. Cars are but one mode of transportation, and the most dangerous. If people drove their cars with more care, the interventions like speed bumps wouldn't be necessary. Get mad at the other drivers for acting badly, not the officials who swore and oath to the health and welfare of the public.

The bolded is actually why they need speed humps. If drivers observed the laws, there wouldn't be a need for physical interventions. Since drivers don't or won't observe the laws, they are required.

Speed bumps are much noisier than speeding cars.

What’s with the new speed bumps on Little Falls between Mass and River? This is a maybe a half mile stretch of road with no sidewalks or crosswalks, no houses or driveways, no real intersecting roads and now there’s three speed bumps on it?

Only thing I can think of is maybe the people who bought in the new development that backs on Little Falls wanted less traffic noise but that can’t really be it, can it?
