Expired food happens all stores though, and I always check dates on everything.
Bugs in a sealed packet means trouble at the processor not the store.

Well, what do you expect from a Giant?
I shop at Whole Foods: it's not more expensive and they're more careful with the quality of their food.

I just got over a 22 day listeria sickness from eating two slices of bacon. Husband cooked it. The week before I ate some and was fine.

I purchased sweet potatoes from Whole Foods last week and came home and realized one was bad. Don’t know why I didn’t think to check because I noticed some of the smaller new potatoes were bad.

They give a refund for something that was bad.
I got a refund for bad meat and once for bad peaches.

I don't usually bother but in this case it was a lot of money

Shopping at the commissary taught me to always check expiration dates! On literally everything.
The bug thing is weird, though.

This has happened to me, too, with regular priced items. I think it's a sign that consumers can't afford the things they used to buy, so it sits on the shelf and if you do buy it, surprise! it's expired/gone bad.

Don't buy shit on sale. I got food poisoning that way. They don't care if you vomit and poop at the same time. Check the date and check for bad smell, buds, curds, mold, etc.

Just wondering if this was a one-off.
Twice recently I have brought home bad dry goods from the grocery store.
One was a bad seasoning packet purchased from the Giant Foods mini grocery store up at U Penn. it was a packet of Mccormick’s spice seasoning that had bugs.
The second one was from the Giant in Baltimore. They had the Emerald brand Dry Roasted Almonds (I have always liked them and they seem to be hard to find) and the bag was tasting stale and they were expired by one month!
Do you think this has anything to do with the supply chain?
Both items were on sale.
