We just did this, and 10 is a great age for it. And yes, drop-off is the norm at this age.

Op here. What do you all think of Painting with a Twist? They have birthday parties and the kids would be engaged the entire time "doing something".

Parents don’t need to stay. But depending on how many girls that it, it can be a lot for your home when it comes to doing activities beyond movies.

No parent is staying for a 10 year old birthday party. Why would you even think you need to socialize with parents other than a quick hello and goodbye?

Bowling or movie or rock climbing party.

I would 100% expect to drop off at 10 years old. Just small chit chat at drop off and pick up.

For a 10 year old, as a guest I’d assume it is a drop off party. If you want to make sure this is the case, say in the invitation, “Feel free to drop your child off! Just leave a number where you can be reached.” I can’t imagine any not taking you up on it. Maybe do a movie at your home or you can rent out the theater at University Mall if you’re in VA if you want to be extra sure you not stuck socializing. BTW, I can totally understand wanting to avoid this.

My child is asking to invite the girls from her class to a birthday celebration- 10 years old.

I'm a complete introvert and I am horrified at this. Please tell me what I could do to entertain the girls and have it be less about "us" the parents socializing.

Help me!!!! I need ideas. I even thought about a group movie where we wouldn't have to talk. lol
