Same. And it took EIGHT MONTHS for the fender to come in.

Our car has been in the shop since February, that’s right February of this year, eight months. It wasn’t even our fault. The collision center has received all the insurance money and every other day when we call they say they need this part or that part and that the rig they use to put it in the air for fixing isn’t available, basically bs ing us this whole time.
We are at loss on what to do. The repair is pretty severe and I know there is a parts shortage ….but still the lying and bsing is too much, meanwhile our insureance doesn’t cover car rental anymore, so we are paying out of pocket for a rental car.
The costs are really adding up. The repair is pretty big, it wasn’t our fault at all, the other driver ran a red light and hit our car. Once in June and August they even said our car would be ready in a week, turns out it hasn’t been touched or looked at in months. So.much. lying.
Anyone else has similar experiences?

Our car was driveable so the body shop didn't have us bring it in until the parts had all arrived.

Why don’t you ask the shop instead of us? We don’t know what your car needs… maybe you can still use until the part comes in? How would we know?

My dh’s Subaru was at the dealer for a month waiting on a part for a warranty repair. No scam, because they were paying for the repair and the loaner car we had the whole time. Supply issues are real.

It’s not a scam, it’s pretty common at the moment. Some fixable cars are getting totaled based on the rental charge alone.

This is a type of insurance fraud. Get it back ASAP.

Is it drivable? Maybe you can take it back until the parts come in?
