My son just graduated from college. I was able to purchase 3 5x7 grad shots for $7 each...no extra shipping. I was shocked/thrilled after the HS experience.

This guy will be in Alexandria for two days mid-Nov and is VERY good. He usually shoots in NYC. Comes here a few times a year to shoot special requests (Usually politicians/media) then takes appointments to fill time slots:

I used !art Pat Julian (MP Photography) for both kids and was thrilled. Great value, gorgeous pictures, very up front about pricing and what you get for what you pay. Pics were so good many of my friends used here and were also impressed.

Vienna based.

They blame the print costs on the “printing company”. Can someone explain to me why it costs 5x more to print a sheet of senior portraits as compared to a sheet of photos for the younger grades? This is horrible price gauging. How do most people afford hundreds of dollars for photo sheets? Especially not particularly good ones. As others have said private professional photographers would end up being less. Any recommendations for good photographers?

I never did receive the proofs for my kids but other peoples were so bad, I didn't even bother following up about it. I don't know how they stay in business.

You can get great shots for less and not use Prestige. Our DCs just got the yearbook shot taken, which was free.

I know people feel forced into the schools photographer as part of “doing senior year right”. But, you are being processed gouged because they are at the school, and the kid must at least get a yearbook photo taken. But, don’t fall for the hard sell. You can get better senior photos for so much less.

How many files did you get?

About 20 that had been professionally retouched, etc. Three outfits at various locations at Wolftrap. (Field, Filene Center, new outdoors stage, etc)

This is what I'm thinking of doing. I'll end up with better pictures and spend much less that at Legacy.

Anyway, got an email for 10% off today.

Does anyone know if the deals get better closer to the deadline?

Thank you!

This company is horrible. No shows for team pics and then the pics are terrible. Ours was underexposed, no touch up on the kids, poor quality. Class pics were marginally better.

I don't mind paying for photography as it is a skill/art that has a high value, imo. But, if I am, the pics need to be much better. Very disappointed this year.

I got an email for $30 off, but have to spend $250 to use it. Not buying that many pictures.

I was just looking at this, I'm in MCPS and the prices are outrageous. $229 for one digital photo? Do schools get a big kickback? Is that why the prices are so high?
