I find pets annoying, not just dogs. They serve no purpose to society at all. They do not belong in a house, we just bred them that way. We have lost touch with the real word and have creatures for companionship at our beckon call.

I was in a crowded area and there was a dog on a retractable leash weaving around children. And the dog owner half assedly saying "oh sorry, come back Fido", while doing nothing to actually pull the dog away. I almost tripped over the leash myself at one point. The entitlement is out of control.

And both my next door neighbors (in an otherwise quiet suburban neighborhood) have dogs who are up and barking (probably at each other) until after 10:00.

People think dogs are an accessory, not a responsibility and I'm so tired of it.

Lots of dogs in my neighborhood, but no barking/noise. None are “outside” dogs. Owners considerareZ

My husband and I recently commented how with all the dogs (literally almost every house), we very rarely ever hear barking.

PP here. To clarify, we don’t leave him in the yard. I take him on walks instead. But he barks at the mailman and anyone else from inside the house. I hate it.

Ugh, we have two dogs in our neighborhood that are outside dogs.

It hurts my heart to hear them barking at night on really cold nights. The county has been called on the owners several times but the dogs have adequate shelter, water, and food so there's nothing they can do.

I don't understand how they can stand being in their house with the dogs constantly barking. I can't stand barking dogs. I have mine trained to never bark. If he's barking, something is seriously wrong or seriously going down.

Sigh. I trained my dog to not bark, then we visited MIL and he learned to bark at anything that moves outside. The mailman hates delivering to us now. I’ve tried to curb this behavior but it’s been years and he hasn’t unlearned.

I have a wonderful dog, he never barks, but even HE is annoying so yes….you are not in the wrong for thinking barking neighborhood dogs are a nuisance.

Same but honestly it's just the annoying dog owners who annoy me. Talking about people who don't move their dogs out of the way on a path, who assume you want to pet the dog or want it to lick you or don't mind it jumping or slobbering on you. But not everyone is like this, and you don't notice the people who are respectful.

Just like many bike riders are fine but the ones who run stop signs or cut you off or behave badly ruin it for everyone.

It's all selfishness.

I'm a dog owner and I don't like these things either. It is the fault of the owner though, not the dog. I think leash laws and litter (poop) violations should be enforced with fines.

Same. I don't mind a well behaved dog, but they are in the VAST minority these days. People that let their dogs bark, wander off leash or on a long leash, or not under their firm control. People who bring their dogs everywhere. People who let their dogs pee and trample on their garden or yard. People who don't pick up after their dog. 99% of dogs (or their owners) are just awful.

I like dogs but often their owners are the annoying ones. I find it astounding how quickly dogs have moved from being seen as pets to being treated like children
