I have the tread and love it. I got the model that’s easier on your knees.

I use the timed runs, which show you scenery going by. There are lots of runs through cities and countryside around the globe, although I think some other companies also provide this. Anyway, I like pretending I’m in Venice or wherever. I listen to my own music or podcasts instead of their music, which is easy to turn off. Another option is the free run, where you just run, but you wouldn’t need a Peloton for that.

Buy a cheap tread and stationary bike.

Use the app on Your phone. It connects right to your watch.

bam. you just saved $3,000

A friend can give you the App for free and you can try on your phone or iPad to see what the classes are like. I fell in love after a few months of using the app. when it got cold last year I bought the tread and love it. I am working out more now than I used to. and doing a bigger variety of things - now jogging and much more stretching and yoga than I used to.
the treadmill itself is great. I like the controls much better than my old treadmill. they are easier to use while moving.

They the app on a treadmill at the gym to see if you like it. i have tried the peloton app for outdoor runs and I hate it. Just not my thing. I find that the instructors talk too much and I hate the overly motivational BS.

Some insurance companies offer the app for free.

You can do the classes without the Peloton tread, and the membership costs more with the Tread than just app only.

I have it and love it, but it’s because of the classes. They keep me motivated and dedicated whereas I hate using treadmills without them. Once in awhile I’ll put on a movie and try to use it without a class and I’m bored 10 minutes later and quit. I need the classes or else it’s a waste. My DC is the opposite. They never use the classes and listen to their own music. If they were the only one using the tread, it could be any treadmill.

There are plenty of high quality treadmill options out there.
