Yes. I like the half days or days off here and there to give a little cushion for all the work. My oldest is at a T15 and found herself very well prepared by MCPS.

But, I agree w/ another PP, would be nice to start later!

It's how they skirt state law that requires X number of school days. The other bad thing about all these half days is the transportation costs are fixed.

YES. All adolescents suffer from the early wake-up. My son more than most, since he has sleep apnea that's difficult to treat and his most restorative hours of sleep are in the morning. We managed to get an abbreviated schedule this year where he skips first period, but we shouldn't have to jump through all these hoops when any sane school system could just start school later!!!

Im sure they have work to do.

Be a parent and tell them to come home. One has nothing to do with the other. It’s ok to say no to your kids.

Our high school will dismiss at 11:22 on Friday after having Monday off and next Wednesday off. What a joke calling these early dismissal days as a full day of school. Last time they had one they spend the couple of hours at school wondering if there was a gun in the building and then off to Bethesda row
