Don’t they use portals? Personal email for work?

This is most likely what it is. I doubt it's the same email that his bank uses to contact him or that his mother uses to send him photos of the dog.

Does this practice have an online portal you can use to email doctors? If so, it could be that he is interested in you. Or the portal is new and he forgot about it. Or they have no portal. Who knows.

OP here. Never posted anything like this and never experienced it either.

Yes, he's interested. This is his way of indicating it without getting in trouble professionally.

Next step is yours to decide if you want to take this on a personal level or not. You need to make the first move (due to his prfessional limitations). Maybe you talked about dogs or surfing or whatever. Email him to mention there's an event related to that on XX and you'll be there and he's welcome to join.

Email is fine but it needs to be hippa compliant. It’s a bit weird, op.

That’s not how this works. Using a secret email address doesn’t make it legal.

Doctors do this all the time - if they use email to communicate with patients. Get over yourself.

IDK...I am a 45 YO female and my 60 year old female doctor also emails me from her personal email address so could be personal preference? Email him and find out!

PP here. I meant to say - if you email him and it turns out that he was interested, please update us

That is odd. I'd probably read into it also. Can you respond and update us?

Hi. I am 33 YO female. Went to a specialist for the first time. Dr was attractive male, probably similar age. No ring. He gave me his business card and I realized later that he wrote his personal email address on the back. Think he was interested or am I making this up in my head?
