Keep Christmas and Thanksgiving as is.
If there was a place for suggestions - Give a holiday or two to Muslims or other groups who don't get any.
And no I'm not Muslim.
They’ve been putting stray professional development/makeup days to align with Chinese New Year and Eid recently.

Start sooner so that the semester ends before the winter break. Then it is easy to have a two week break. And with 2nd semester starting sooner, school can end at Memorial Day. Kids are just mentally done in June - it is wasted time. The earlier start give more productive learning time, plus gives students in AP/IB classes a few more weeks of instruction before tests in May, like so many other school systems across the country.

I agree with you all, the half days are the worst, and I like the suggestion of the PP to make them late start! Instead of the week of Thanksgiving or a longer winter break, I’d rather have a full week Feb break during President’s Day.
