Any advice on what to do if you are arrested in a situation like this? Why would they do this? Gave me a $500 ticket and let me go, acting like he was doing me a favor. And no, was not speeding near any pedestrians, was on a bridge and hit that high momentarily as was passing another car.
Which bridge?

I'll bet it was Michigan Avenue.

And yes, in Brookland there has been increased enforcement and ticket writing since a little girl was killed in a crosswalk last year.

People drive like Michigan Avenue is a race track when it's actually a residential street with many schools along it.

I wish it was a troll, but the description and the diction make me thing it's real. A troll would have written something more coherent and triggering.

+1. MPD is not enforcing the new limits until greater public knowledge. This sounds like a bike lane sock puppeteer.

Or someone who was hoping to gin up a lot of outrage FROM bike lane supporters for entertainment purposes.

Are you seriously complaining about a penalty for exceeding the speed limit 2x? You realize that is considered reckless driving, right?

If you're going more than 30 mph over the speed limit, they can arrest you and/or give you jail time as punishment. Writing it at 29 over IS doing you a favor.
