I have a Kia Niro PHEV. It is actually surprisingly roomy. I love it in battery mode, but its not that great in pure hybrid mode: slow acceleration and not as good mpg as I would expect from a hybrid. Mine requires more maintenance than a toyota. For example, every 15K miles I am supposed to get my engine clutch actuator fluid changed. Many independent garages don't know how to do this and it can be hard to get someone that knows how to do this even at certain dealerships (I got strange looks when I asked about it a couple years ago at one local dealership and then just said that I don't really need that done right now even though the owners manual said it was due).
If you are getting a PHEV, I'd say go for it, but if it is a hybrid only, I'd go with the RAV4 hybrid.
