We have one bed from Crate and Kids which is lovely, but honestly, in retrospect, far more than we needed to spend for a kid's bed. Also, the paint is extremely faded (in inconsistent areas that make it less attractive)--we got one of the Jenny Lind beds.

We've now gone the Ikea route for our other kids with the Lofts (including desk, drawers, shelves and incorporated closet) for <500 all-in. These are great in small spaces and also come up on craigslist constantly.

Also, kids furniture takes a beating--I've learned to go for function and practicality over some catalog picture of decorative perfection.

Are you looking for a mattress or some kind of furniture piece. We got our kid's mattresses at Costco and I bought a fun headboard on Wayfair.

In stock same day:
Belfort has some items as well as IKEA.

For both - many have issues due to supply chain but you should be able to find something.

Your parents/in-laws/aunts and uncles. We repainted my childhood bed peachy pink and it looks just like the Crate & Barrel Kids/Land of Nod Jenny Lind bed everyone has.

My boys, 11 and 8, are in the Kura Ikea bunk bed referenced above. We've had it since the older one was 2yrs and it's holding up great. Neither has asked for anything different.

Craigslist/FB marketplace, or buy nothing groups. I found a pottery barn trundle bed for $250 and a land of nod bed for $100 within a few days of searching. I love Ikea but these secondhand finds are great quality and have lasted years.

Both my kids have twin beds from Ashley. One kid is particularly hard on her stuff, but after 5 years it's in good shape.

This was about 15 years ago but this is the one we had. We didn't have those white panels, ours were blue.

We have this for our 6yo. It started flipped from the picture when he was 4yo. Then at 6yo, we flipped it and now he’s on top and use the bottom area for toy storage. We also bought the canopy that goes over it.

Only thing to keep in mind—it takes a 5” mattress, which can be difficult to find. (Bought one on Amazon) My friend uses a normal mattress for her daughter and it’s fine. But it makes the side rails a little short.

I figure he’ll be in here until it’s time to get him a larger bed when he’s a teen.
