It's an unfortunate trend in (not all, but many) 20-somethings who are trying to keep up with their peers. Most of these tattoos age badly, either cosmetically or culturally, as one gets older and realize the edgy tribal band/cartoon character/"just breathe" insignia feels dated and immature.

I have occasionally seen some that are objectively beautiful.

I agree. I’m a guy and have no tattoos but it definitely seems like women are often attracted to a man’s tattoos (I don’t really get it tbh). But a large percentage of men find tattoos on women to be a huge turn off.

Interesting. I'm female and one of those least likely to get a tattoo. But I find that when I admire some's ink, that someone is usually a man with a nice body serving as canvas.

I'm a woman with a tattoo and I actually appreciate it when I can tell someone finds my tattoo really distasteful or tacky because it's such an easy way to weed out obnoxious people. In my experience, people who feel entitled to an opinion on my tattoo (or my hair, or my clothes, or my makeup) have control issues. Like if you are walking around looking at people and thinking "if they would just do what I want them to do with their bodies, they would look more pleasing to me" then you're already in a weird headspace.

If someone is not attracted to my tattoo, that is okay too. I am not attracted to everyone either! Funny how that works.

I sort of agree with you, which is why I'd never get one for myself. But I have admired them on others, and I have no problem with anyone's choices for tattoos, hair, makeup, etc. Not my business at all.

Tattoos are really trashy, on both men and women.

Women looking to date generally put a lot of effort into their appearance, just like men try to enhance their own attractiveness. If more women were aware of the fact that a very high percentage of men find tattoos to be a turn off then I think it would change their behavior and help them out. There are things that men do that also turn women off, like playing too many video games or sending d*ck pics. I think that should be talked about as well.

I could say the same thing about cosmetic surgery.

I don't give a flying eff if you don't like the way I look, OP. Why on earth would I spend any amount of time caring about your opinion?

It’s an inherently masculine look.

Put it this way, she’s 100% not interested in appealing to you. So her tattoos are doing exactly what they’re meant to. You can move on, she doesn’t care what you think.

What does me being attractive have to do with tattoos? Point still stands.

Just because you don't find it attractive, doesn't mean other people agree with you. You should mind your own business. Women don't exist to be aesthetically pleasing to you. If you don't like their look, then turn your gaze elsewhere.
