You realize that map can only display incidents that were reported to the police and the police actually filed a report, right?
I've personally been hit twice in that exact area, but there were no major injuries and I was on my way to work so why would I waste the time to call the police and wait for them to show up just so they can refuse to file a report?
I guarantee that GIS undercounts incidents by a factor of 10 or more. Probably closer to 100.
