In addition to the tag, you could also look into getting a transport chair, which is lightweight and easy to fold up and store—much easier to use for appointments and other outings.

+1. I put my DD’s in my glove compartment and only hang it when I am driving her. You can get fined and lose the tag if you are using it otherwise.

Yes.

If they apply in MD, they get a choice of 2 hang tags, or a license plate and a hang tag. Neither of my people with a disability drive (one is too young, one is too old, and both have disabilities that prevent it). They each got 2 hang tags, one of which stays in the vehicle that they are driven in the most, and the other travels with them. My kid’s is in the backpack with emergency medical supplies that goes everywhere, and my elderly person’s lives under the seat of their rollator.
