My ex husband was 5 years older than I. Now I am with someone my own age. There are many many differences between them. But I will say that same age is so much better as we just have all the same references. There was always a slight disconnect caused by the five year difference. Not so much that I would ever discourage someone from this, but if you isolate it, I would say the difference was a disadvantage.

My wife is two years older. Makes sense because men on average don't live as long.

I made someone ten years older than me. The advantages are that I liked him. But we are still youngish (he’s 51) so I’ll report back in 10 years.

Your world view and experiences are different. 10 years is a big chunk of life so your marital life would be shorter.

Divorce rates are lowest for couples who are the same age. It goes up for every year of age difference.

I don't think it's "better," and I say that as someone whose spouse is ten years older than I am. Age is one aspect of a person, and it's certainly one you should consider, but it also matters how active they are, whether they take care of their health, whether their personality meshes with yours -- it's not like older people can't be homebodies or adventurers just like anyone else. Are they open to exploring the same music, pop culture, art, travels, books, etc. as you? (And vice-versa?) It really depends on the person.

If he is 10 year older, looking young and going stray, no. Falling ill and dying before kids are out of high school, yes.

Even though younger, attractive female finds aging, balding, low tested middle age man disgusting and unattractive?

As a man in his 50s, I'd say my sex drive better matches someone who is 10-15 years younger.

This is a very silly question. What is good for one person may not be good for another. Personally I would never marry someone 10+ years older than me.

They’ll be dead before you and you can move in with your besties golden girls style.
