Same here! I keep my dog on a short leash, but I honestly can't control where she goes. She can pee and poop on my lawn and then poo 6 houses later. I would never get an extendable leash and let my dog deep into your yard. I apologize to all you nice lawn owners!

I get that. But can dogs go on the 6 inches or do of grass next to the road? What is it necessary for dogs to go deep into my yard and pee on my kids raspberry bushes? I know dogs are color blind but there are huge red berries... owners should think how we can eat that after their dog pees on our berries?

I think this only encourages some owners to deliberately ignore it. And it's unhelpful to the zombies on their phones.

Put up a sign. I pass loads of them every day. There is one right on Connecticut near Woodley that says, “Dog urine kills plants. Please curb your dog.” Buy that, put it up right next to your dead plant.

I’m sorry, OP. That really sucks. I don’t use an extendable leash and I don’t let my dog enter people’s yards or pee on their mailboxes. My dog shouldn’t impede anyone else’s enjoyment of their property.

What are these magical plants? I can't think of any that would cause an immediate reaction for a dog nut still safe for humans

We also put up the "no peeing/pooping signs" and put up a metal railing around parts of the mailbox. We made it quite clear that we do not like dogs and made it difficult for them to access certain areas. It has helped. So you may need to do some legwork but it's doable.

They don't care. Lazy. Dogs >>>> your lawn and plants.

In our neighborhood there is a 4-8 ft. wide area of grass between the sidewalk and the curb. This is on blocks and blocks. What do I see as I'm driving by? Dogs on those extendable leashes anywhere from 10 to 30 feet into others' yards, any yards. No shame by dog owners. This is not one outlier either.

WHY on earth do so many dog owners let their dogs pee on people's yards and plants? Not on the curb, but clearly on someone's property? A plant of ours is now dying because of dogs and their owners. And there's a big public park just 10 steps away. Truly, what the hell goes through their brains?
