Living the Pie Life has good pies. No coffee or slices, though…

I suppose, if you wanted the diner/coffee and pie experience, you could go to Ted’s Bulletin and order coffee and a pie or tart. But I think that they are *just okay.* to not so great.

Don’t know, but feel your pain. I fantasize about opening a cafe that always has two pie flavors, a cake, and some kind of bars available, with something chocolate added for the evening. I imagine a lunch crowd, an afternoon tea and piece of pie crowd, dinner crowd, and then the evening dessert clientele. Sure it would never work, but I think I get your burn.

They have classic sweet pie (apple, cherry) and savory as well. Mmmm.

Like Pie Gourmet, you can't sit down and eat in there either.

Metro 29 Diner Arlington for the slice and coffee. Livin the Pie Life in Arlington for the best pie.

I've had pies from here: Bakeshop 100 E Fairfax St, Falls Church, VA 22046. They are good. Their cookies are really good. But their banana pudding is disappointing.

Also, I know you said that you are looking for homemade pies but Wildfire in Tysons has a delicious cherry pie.

There are more pie places like these (but I haven't had a chance to taste their pies yet):
- Livin the Pie Life in Arlington
- Pie Gourmet in Vienna
- Acme Pie in Arlington

Can you get slices at these places? Only looking for a slice and a coffee...not really looking to buy whole pies.

A slice and a coffee? Yeah it’s not jersey.

Coffe and a slice of pie soulmate! I have returned to the diner motherland (Northeast), but from my brief sojourn in DC i found The Diner or Tryst (right next to each other) in adams morgan acceptable.

The DMv suffers from a lack of pie quality. There is a great old article from the washington post that tells the story of this humble country store in great falls (?) that had pies so great people came from miles around for the fresh baked pies before thankagiving. The punchline at the end is the poes are all frozen supermarket pies.

You can get a slice at Pie Gourmet, but it's not a place where you're able to eat it. It's to-go only, so no cup of coffee to enjoy with your pie.

What's the best place for a slice of pie and cup of 'Jo in the DMV. It does not have to be foo foo stuff. A place that makes their own pies in house. I wish this area had small local diners like NJ or in the south that had their own homemade pies, but they seem to be few and far between, and very mediocre. Any places to go?
