Do you have evidence that shows that MCPS is breaking the law to discriminate against some groups to favor others, or is this just more conspiracy fiction?
Of course mcps will not leave evidence behind. It’s all on the dl.

I kind of hope they don't bring it back simply to reduce the impact which the prep industry has on admissions.

Nope. We prepped the absolute heck out of our kid. Got the magic 99% and into the program. And since then the tests have fallen back to the 80-93 range.
Nothing you say changes that fact the extra preparation is a factor.
your kid could not have been in the program. -- because CogAT test was only for the application only -- no magnet students would be asked to do the test over again in the program !
3rd grade CoGat which got them accepted into a CES program. This was 4-5 years ago

Thanks --- I know their bitterness. I was asked by some current 8th grader parents about the program -- mine was in class 2024 and did CogAT in the winter of 2019
