Three kids, very similar pregnancies in terms of weight gain, hyperemesis + needing meds, timing of birth (all after my due date), being able to remain active to the end.

I did have kidney stones with my third, so that was an unanticipated wrinkle. I'm not a fan.

1st two were identical. Zero symptoms, zero contractions, forced inductions. I thought both would be the same sex because I had the same symptoms, but one was a girl and one was a boy. Third pregnancy was much the same except I had some morning sickness (it was a girl baby), but also zero contractions and a forced induction at 41+.

One of my friends had gestational diabetes in her first pregnancy and then not in her second. And in her second she had gestational hypertension that she didn't have in her first. Different genders.

Similar in weight gain and appearance. Also, both c-sections. The first was unplanned, but quick recovery from both. #1 didn't have a lot of movement/activity, just always hung out. #2 seemed to never sleep. Awake and kicking all the time. I would say it matches their personalities #1 could sit on his own doing what he enjoys for hours. #2 takes up space wherever he goes and wants company while doing it.

Both babies born a week after their due date, but not similar other than that. I'm sure a big factor was that I ended up not working the last 3.5 months of my second pregnancy (semi-complicated job changes and probable job waiting for me somewhere else to start a few months after baby was born). So I had less stress and more time to take care of myself - walking, yoga, eating better than I would have squeezing in lunch at the office --and I had much more energy and felt less uncomfortable.

Mine were similar.

DS- Nausea and vomiting throughout the day beginning week 6 until delivery (36 weeks); gestational hypertension; chronic UTIs, frequent pre-term contractions beginning at week 22; placental abruption (partial) at 36 weeks resulting in emergency c-section. Gained 37 pounds

DD- Nausea and vomiting throughout the day beginning week 5 until delivery. Needed medication to function (and have energy to chase my two year-old); gestational hypertension, spontaneous rupture of membranes at 36 weeks but had a scheduled c-section for 37 weeks due to history of placental abruption.

Mine were night and day. First pregnancy no symptoms and had multiple complications, interventions, and extended hospitalization while pregnant. Too scared to try again. years later got pregnant accidentally. All the pregnancy symptoms (nausea cravings tired , got anemic) were there. Monitored frequently as I was high risk. Had zero complications!

Yes - both of mine were very similar. Light morning sickness and extreme fatigue in the 1st tri, smooth 2nd and 3rd tri with nausea subsiding. Different cravings (1st = tropical fruit, orange juice, fried chicken; 2nd = carbs carbs carbs! cereal, rice, and potato chips).

Both births were induced, since DS went nearly to 42 weeks and DD to 41+2. 2nd induction (11 hours, start to finish) was much easier than the 1st (48 hours all told).

2nd pregnancy made me anemic. Fetus was harvesting ALL my iron. I guess it is good knowing my body prioritized the fetus over me.
Otherwise, everything was the same. #1 ten days late, #2 2 weeks early.
They are both now healthy, robust and very good high schoolers.

Mine were similar, fewer symptoms in general with 2 but more fatigue by far. Got preE both times, but earlier with 2. And induction and pushing were much faster with 2 vs 1.

Pregnancies, yes. Super fatigued in first trimester, no sickness, generally felt great both times. Only big difference was the second time, I had some bad hip pain the last few weeks.

Deliveries - very different. Induced both times. First for gestational hypertension that popped up at 38 weeks, second at 39 weeks because of maternal age (no hypertension the second time). First induction took 60 hours with an hour and a half of pushing. Second took maybe 18 hrs and one push.

I feel like in broad strokes, amongst people I know, they either had all fairly easy pregnancies like me, or all rough pregnancies where they felt crappy.

Same in terms of serious vomiting throughout the pregnancy, poor appetite, not gaining much weights

Pretty different - my first I had so many symptoms - horrible reflux, vomiting (not every day but pretty much the throughout the pregnancy), gushing bloody noses daily, insane appetite. First kid was 10 lbs a week early so I also had bad knee pain from the weight I was carrying (gained 60 lbs including the 10 Lb baby).

Second pregnancy just had nausea the first trimester and reflux somewhere in the second trimester and beyond. The last month was insane fatigue but maybe that’s also bc I was parenting a toddler as well. This baby was 8.5 lbs at birth and also early. Both scheduled c-sections due to the size of the babies.

3 pregnancies; first baby came early, second two were late. Second two were also much bigger but labor was faster and, with the third, this resulted in complications. Pregnancies were all somewhat similar and recovery was pretty much the same. All deliveries were vaginal and fairly uncomplicated it’s just that with the 3rd I was bleeding out and they had to take special measures to resolve that.

Yes and no.
No nausea, morning sickness with either.

Fatigue was really bad with first pregnancy in the first trimester. Not nearly as bad in the second. I wondered if that had to do with the fact that with the second pregnancy, it was moving into the summer versus the first pregnancy, it led into winter when the days were getting shorter.

Also had gestational diabetes with the second.

Title says it all - if you’ve have more the one child, were your pregnancies similar in terms of symptoms, complications, etc?
