PALS, Dibles, a social emotional, and a math screener. You'll get the results at parentsl teacher conferences. They're good screeners-- at least Dibles is and minimally burdensome. Like 5 minutes to administer?

And the kids will not know it’s a test. It’s K, so it’s not written. They just sit with an adult who asks them questions and may point at some letters and words to ask them if they know the sound it makes.

Yes, but they won’t until later. There is a window where the tests are administered. It will be late Oct/Nov for results most likely. Last year they put them on Parent VUE.

There are baseline standardized tests done at every elementary grade level at the start of the year and a couple of other points during the year. It is to help get an understanding of where kids are at for the various skills and which students may need particular support or extension.

Maybe pals or whatever they call it? They probably see how many sounds and words they know. Seems a bit early, but they can only do a few a day.

Another parent mentioned this. Is it to see how much they know at the beginning of the year? Will the teacher tell us the results?
