Vermont is the only state with debossed plates. All other states that are not flat are embossed.

This is not true at all.

+1
Minnesota has flat plates; we lost our normal raised ones years ago.

I have known that Delaware fact for years and years and I still love it. It’s about as dumb a thing to spend money on as anything else wealthy people waste money on.

I learned from Real Housewives of Dubai plates with one digit go from millions. Didn't know Delaware had a trend that was similar.

It's a status symbol.. ...it's as stupid as everything else rich people waste money on, like clothes, watches, etc. The first state with low numbers. You can't steal the plates either and have them be worth a lot, it's about actually legally owning the plates. Yes, if you have a super vintage plate with legally owned numbers = $$$$$$$

No, they have too much money.

I'm happy that Delaware has found a way to assess The Stupid Tax on their richest residents. Good news for normal middle-class Delawareans!

There's no sales tax in Delaware

I would pay $0 to have an easily remembered license plate. Too many crazy people on the road.

Delaware's three-digit plates can bring $50,000 and two-digit plates can bring upwards of $400,000.[54][55] These estimates have sometimes been exceeded: in 2008, plate number 6 brought $675,000 at auction,[56][57] and in 2018, plate number 20 fetched $410,000 at auction.[56][58] Bids have come from around the world, even though only drivers with Delaware licenses and residency can legally own the plates.[56]

How much would you pay for a short and easy plate? I'd pay $100.
