Ok, I understand the jewels, but the actions were part of the country's doing, and not really her, actually. Shouldn't England address these issues? The monarchy hasn't really had any power in a very long time. She couldn't have made any one decision, and they are supposed to be apolitical.
How is it different than the legacy of Spain, or the US? I think we have a lot of repairing to do.
Not defending the royal family, really- I think they are a massive waste of $$ and attention, and they engage in amazing theatrics based upon a genetic lineage, which makes no sense(!) but it appears the world keeps them in place as they really serve little purpose other than for show. The world seems to crave royalty for whatever reason.
