It must just be Va. Our 2 in the District both have them.

I also see a lot of Teslas in Virginia with a Virginia back plate but no front plate.

The PP was clearly describing another group of car owners, aside from self absorbed Tesla owners who don't put front plates on their cars.
Not so self-absorbed that they don’t put on front plates.
- 2 teslas, both over $100k (one before there was a local dealer/service center and one after)

^^^ Also wanted to add, it's a point for luxury/exotic dealers to not install front plates on higher priced cars in Virginia. One MB dealer told me their line is 100k.

Wait, what? You just don’t put the state required front plate on because you don’t like the aesthetics? And you don’t get cited? That seems like a flagrant violation of state law.
Yea, this is common. Fairfax county and various close in city cops are cool about it. I have been pulled over without a front plate and none of them said anything about it. Seems to me that the front plate requirements are like speed limits.

They should in VA. In 2016 we bought an non-Tesla EV in MD. It didn’t pass inspection in VA without the front plate.

It is state dependent. Check the back to see if it has a VA plate. In the immediate DC region, Delaware, PA, WV and NC don't require front plates.
