30 minutes of lunch in a cafeteria is a lot different than 5 hours in a classroom.

Weird and makes no sense.

Maybe ask for clarification? I hate masks, but I might just let this go and send my kid in a mask to make things easier for everyone. But I can understand being annoyed.

No it isn't. The CDC and Maryland Health Department both say masking should occur if there are multiple cases in a class.

That's nice to hear they are doing that. What is the issue? Test your kid and mask them. What does vaccination status have to do with positives? Lots of vaccinated are getting positive as the vaccine helps with severity, not transmission.

I’m sorry to see that they’re still doing this. That is how they handled our classroom/turned entire grades Covid cases last June.

I just get a classroom message that someone is positive in my kid's ES classroom, so everyone has to wear masks for 10 days and get tested tonight with rapid test. The teacher or school never ask for children's vaccination status, so it seems it does not matter if you are vaccinated/unvaccinated, everyone has to wear mask in the classroom. The whole class eats lunch & play at cafeteria that has other classes, and my kid also attend the after care program

So, the message states that kids have to wear masks "in the classroom" for 10 days, is that mistypo which they actually mean that kids have to wear masks "at school" for 10 days? Is that the policy now at MCPS elementary school?
