Yep. Also tired of men thinking that they can drop in and out of parenting duties whenever they feel like because their wife is there to pick up the slack. I'm sure Gisele has had to make certain career sacrifices as a parent, why is he allowed to do whatever he wants?

Gisele because he went back on his word. Agree she signed up for this life but he decided to retire, announced it, and then went back on it apparently without reaching an agreement with her. You can't make unilateral decisions like that when you are part of a family. Or if you do, you are being selfish. She likely had made plans based on his retirement and his decision to go back on it at the last minute totally disrupted them. I'd be pissed too.

He's had a very long career for a football player. I think at this point, especially with how much success he's had, it's appropriate for a spouse to have more say in whether you continue than might be the case earlier in a career where there is clearly more to be done. What does he have left to prove to anyone? Nothing. Doesn't need the money. Honestly, he mostly risks either getting injured or looking foolish at this point, and what is the point of that?It's clear to me that he's being self-centered and not thinking very much about how this impacts his kids or his wife.

So what? Adam Vinatieri played until his late 40s. She married the greatest player of all time. Deal with it.He gets multiple months off at a time unlike 99% of other husbands who have to work all year long. Big deal, there's a trade off.

If the rumors are accurate than I completely see Gisele‘s point of you. He retired and as a wife and mother I would be looking forward to having my husband at home and parenting alongside me. And then changes I would be really upset too.

On the other hand Tom Brady is one of the best athletes of our time and he was nowhere near ready to retire so he shouldn’t have retired if you didn’t mean it or felt pressure to retire if he wasn’t ready.

Tom. It is hardly a job that is more time consuming than others, it is just compacted during the year. He still has a ton of time off.

i would side with her on the risk of some sort of significant or freak injury, but as others said, she knew that going in.

Of course this is a multimillionaire problem but a lot of us struggle with balancing career aspirations and family life.

I am with Gisele on this one. It looks like Tom is having a hard time letting go of football. It's what he's known for a long, long time and it clearly defines him. But he has achieved more than any other football quarterback. Your teammates and organization will get by without you but your kids are only kids once and I suspect that he did not have enough of a discussion with her about unretiring. Plus, wouldn't it be nice to spend more time with the one son who does like playing football during his freshman season - not just jetting in for a game or two but maybe show up for practices too?
