Being goofy with kids in a park is totally fine. I might be a bit embarrassed if it was over the top and not "good" (not like gymnast dad above) but that's me, I don't like to have attention drawn my way.

Seems pretty innocuous without more info.

Contempt and disdain are relationship killers and not a good look for you. Require more of yourself to embrace this fun side of him when you go to the park or are out in public.

You sound like a nice person.

I knew a dad who use to be a gymnast of some sort and he would do flips at the park. He was really in shape and it was actually super hot. Maybe if I was his wife I'd be embarrassed if he did it at the mall...but he looked good...

I don't think of that as childish, but as athletic. I'd think of a childish trick as "pull my finger" and then farting.

My DH acts childish like this. Kids love it, and he’s a great dad, so I deal with it.

Does this trick harm anyone? Or just embarrass you?

If the former, you can be upset. If the latter, you have to let it go.

I don't want to say exactly what the thing is but in general do you care if your DH acts childish when out with you and your kids in a public setting? My DH likes to do a certain "trick" when we go to a park and I am mortified when he does this. Should I care? It something you would usually see a kid/teenager do. Thoughts?
