Safford Hyundai in Springfield does not mark above MSRP. No discounts though but that's pretty much everywhere these days. Be mindful of mark ups by dealers! It's a ripoff.

My first car - wow never knew it was a poor people's car... was great for me.

I drove a used Accent for several years and I loved it. Great gas mileage and in the 4 years I had it, it didn't need any repairs. I think it was 5 years old when I bought it. I traded it in for a new Hyundai Tucson and I'll be sticking with Hyundai.

ALso, make sure you take the teen and see if s/he can fit in the back. A used Elantra might be a better fit.

I drove a couple as rentals a couple years ago. One I loved as was very zippy. The other one felt like it had no grip on the road and was actually kind of scary to drive.

I would say to test drive one and see what you think. They have good warranties, so you aren't risking much.

We are thinking of buying Hyundai Accent? Does anyone have it and share their opinion? I know its a poor people car bit that's what we can afford. We are a family of 4 with 1 teenager. Does it work? If not, does someone have a car in mind with similar budget. The market is crazy right now, don't want to pay above MSRP. TIA!
