Wide leg pants really only look good on skinny women with long legs, especially because they require slimmer tops to balance them out. I'm not short, but as someone who carries her weight in her hips, these styles look awful on me.

You know, I used to think this, but I’m short and pear-shaped and small on top, and I’ve come to really like wearing form-fitting tops with bigger/wide-legged pants. Yes, I look “bigger” on the bottom…but I am, and I think the small tops are flattering.

Like some of the above pictures, I really like a fitted solid color top and a simple necklace.

Wide-leg jeans, fitted or slim top.

Skinny jeans, relaxed top.

What looks best with wide legged jeans is a more form fitting top, or a cropped style, that really only works if you have a nice flat waist. You need to balance the width of the pant leg with something fitted. Does not need to be tight, but if it is flowy it needs to be tucked in so your waist is visible.

Oh god none of these. If you wear any of these, people will think you are one of those anti fashion women who are still wearing their bootcut jeans from 1997 because you never stopped. These would all look make you look like dowdy unfashionable moms.

Usually something fitted is better but this sweater actually looks good with my side legged jeans if I wear a belt that is eye catching. I think because the fabric is kind of silky drapery it works, don’t wear anything bulky.
Agree cropped can work if you are young enough for that.
