Late peaches pretty much end mid August, apple picking season starts next week though.

Thanks all! Peaches are still abundant at farmers' markets, but I guess the you-pick farms are out.

I second the suggestion for Mackintosh Fruit Farm. They're in Berryville, VA. It's a pretty drive and we like to stop at the Bluemont General Store, which is in a cute historic village, just of Rt 7, for ice cream or a drink on the way there or back.

As of a few days ago, Mackintosh fruit farm in VA still had yellow peaches for picking. But it is the very end of the season around here.
