Avoid any of the newer ones - ALL new 911s now have a twin turbo 6 motor. If you can purchase one without the turbos - say a 2014 911 Carrera, then these will be easier to maintain and also hold their value - if that is important to you.

Avoid anything newer than the 993. Older is better when it comes to 911’s.

I am on my second, a gorgeous 2015 4S. I would seriously rethink the daily driver if you already don't own a Porsche. As others have said, they are expensive to maintain and service. I have had no issues with mine but small things like having to have summer and winter tires and switching between the two is a PIA. Spend some time on a Porsche forum before making the daily driver decision.
As for what to buy - avoid anything over 40k miles. That will be hard in your price range.

2009-2012 997.2 are the most desired due to no IMS issues and still being small before 911s turned into bloated touring cars. Just watch out for bore scoring/smoke. Get a ppi beforehand.

The one with the fried egg headlights. Best one is 993 with air cooled engine and manual gearbox. I have one from 1996. Love it…simple and excellent quality. 993 keeps going up in value for these reasons. I purchased mine 15 years back for $30k…now worth about $80k. Best of luck.

Having had 2 Porches (Cayenne and Panamera) I suggest you go to the Porsche owners forums for your answers. In any event, plan to have a large fund for maintenance and repairs.

Looking to purchase a used Porsche 911 Carrera. Budget is $70k and
I plan to use it as daily driver - no garage queen. While the 911 is
one of the most reliable sports cars, I’m certain there were a few 911
years which were worse (or better) vs others. If you’ve owned a 911, can you
comment on your experience please, good and bad.
