If you don't have kids and no other responsibilities (like a young person), you have a chance to grind your way there, but know its a crowded field

I hired and trained new sales representatives for it sales in a past job.

1) natural sales ability is very overrated. Listening and making connections between products, customer needs, and acquisition realities matters a lot more than being “sales-y”.

2) what technology do you use at your fed agency. Being a subject matter expert in that technology’s use cases in your agency could be a good way to get a foot in at that company or competitors.

How old are you? Do you have connections to those with actual purchasing authority?

Can you withstand much higher income risk? Most people who try to work in tech sales fail. And work more unpredictable hours?

I am a current fed thinking of transitioning to tech sales. I don’t have a tech background or sales background, but feel I am a natural salesperson and am just exploring options. Are there any boot camp or online certificate programs that would qualify me for this? What is the career like? What is typical compensation?
